WLAN Security and the FBI

Another article of interest from Tom's Networking... The security of wireless LANs is an interesting topic. I recently had a chance to see for myself how my WLAN security practices actually worked. I was pretty pleased.

In any case this article gives a look at how the FBI computer experts approach wireless access, WEP cracking, AP spoofing etc. It's mostly an overview (a future article will go step-by-step) but they do list the software tools used such as Kismet, Airsnort and, one I'll have to especially look at, the Auditor's Security Collection (an "FBI approved" Linux LiveCD).
